Li Huaxin, China's special envoy to Syria, has held talks with Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister, Ahmed Al Magnus, during his two-day visit to the country. Li announced after the talks that China promotes a six-point plan as the basis of a solution to the violence in Syria.
Li Huaxin said, "The aim of this visit is to explain our six-point statement. The other goal is to exchange views on the current situation with the Syrian government. During our talks, I explained China's stance and intentions."
Al Magnus has expressed appreciation of China's efforts. And Li says he will hold further talks with the Syrian Foreign Minister. He has called for an immediate cease-fire and dialogue between all parties, while rejecting foreign intervention in Syria's affairs.

On the weekend, Beijing laid out its stance on Syria in a six-point statement that warned other powers not to use humanitarian aid to "interfere".
And urged Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's government and opposition forces to "immediately, fully and unconditionally" stop fighting.
